Drake & Pharrell Confirmed For Apple’s Streaming Service
Looks like Jay-Z isn't the only one launching a streaming service, Now, Billboard have confirmed that Apple has managed to sign on Drake and Pharrell for the service. It is not clear how they will be involved but an earlier report from NYP stated that they would be guest DJs on iTunes Radio. It was also rumored that Drake was offered $19 million but that was shot down by an Apple spokesperson who said: “Apple doesn’t normally pay artists for those types of collaborations”.
Billboard also reports that Drake was set to be one of the launch partners of TIDAL but dropped out a few days before the announcement. It is not clear why he changed his mind but it could be because Apple presented a better deal. The streaming service is expected to be priced at $10 a month. Stay tuned for more details.
